The political trickster Roger Stone confirmed to me just now that he is (naturally) involved in the latest assault on Eliot Spitzer: A promise by a Manhattan Madam (aka "The Manhattan Madam") to run against Spitzer if he tries to return to politics.


Stone, who has also been making trouble for Democrats in the Florida Senate primary, has been on a long crusade against Spitzer, which he's always claimed he's doing for free, something he repeated to me today. He's also been promoting a discrimination lawsuit against Spitzer's father.


The madam, Kristin Davis, "is a 'gal pal' of mine and I will assist her in the intricacies of getting on the ballot," Stone emailed me.
